CASA Case Supervisor Opening

Description Oversees work of Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers, working to achieve agency mission to empower volunteers to be the voice in court for abused and neglected children; Orients newly trained volunteers, and monitors the training needs of all volunteers, and responds by providing needed information and teaching needed skills; Guides volunteer in advocating for child(ren) in court and the greater community; Accompanies volunteers to all court hearings, CPS meetings and mediations; Guides volunteers in writing and filing court reports; Prepares volunteers for court testimony; Supports and provides recognition for volunteers individually and collectively, and takes actions to retain pool of volunteers; Completes casework for cases in which a volunteer resigns or is dismissed from a case or a volunteer is not available to work a case; Maintains a working relationship between agencies and professionals; Assists with Child Advocates volunteer recruitment activities when needed; and Attends all Child Advocates special events and fundraisers. Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Business Management, Public Administration or related field and/or equivalent 3-5 years of work experience.
• Knowledge of the Child Welfare System
• Knowledge of current services to abused children and basic knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse
• Must sign and adhere to a Confidentiality Agreement
• Travel throughout Texas required
• Ability to pass a drug/alcohol and criminal background check

Desired Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Case Supervisor working with CASA volunteers
• Previous supervisory experience
• Previous casework experience
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Demonstrated skills in networking between agencies and professionals (volunteers, co-workers, Child Protective Service (CPS) workers, CPS clients, attorneys, teachers, counselors, and other professionals in the community)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
