Continuing Education Training Options
A CASA can receive training credit by:
1. Attending CASA Café sessions offered by Child Advocates. See topics listed above.
2. Attending pre-service training sessions. Existing volunteers may attend pre-service trainings sessions with new volunteers to brush up on appropriate topics. See topics listed above.
3. Attending training events in the community. Child Advocates will send notices to volunteers when training events applicable to the work of CASA volunteers arise in the community. Volunteers may also receive credit for training received at their place of employment or through other community training events. In order to receive credit for the training, the volunteer must complete the Outside Training Form and submit it to Charlene.
4. Completing National CASA training modules online.
5. Reading applicable books/materials. Books, videos and other materials relative to the work of a CASA may be checked out at our office or obtained individually. In order to receive credit for training, the volunteer must complete the Book/Media Training Form and submit it to Charlene.
