Kathy, March 2008 Volunteer of the Month
 

Child Advocates is proud to announce that Kathy has been named Volunteer of the Month in March.

Kathy has been a CASA for three years and has served seven children on three separate cases. Her dedication to her cases is apparent in the hours that she puts in serving them every month. She has even traveled to California using her own money and time to follow up on a placement there.

Kathy has worked with children during most of her professional life. She worked as a pediatric nurse, a school nurse as well as a home health nurse for children returning home from hospital care. Once her own children were grown, she was looking for a way to keep up her involvement with children. Her feelings about being a CASA are strong. If you are considering becoming a CASA, Kathy says, "It is the wisest decision you will ever make."
