Shawna, August 2007 CASA Volunteer of the Month
Our CASA Volunteer of the Month for August is SHAWNA MEAD. Shawna has been a volunteer since April 2007. She spends about 40 hours a month visiting with people involved in her case. When she is not volunteering she works at Sears Optical and spends time with her husband and stepson. She says it is important to have enough time with the children so you know enough to feel comfortable with them in court. Her comments regarding volunteering, "It is very rewarding and a good feeling when you get the children out of a bad situation." Her prior volunteer service includes volunteering at First Step and on the PTA board.
