August 30, 2007- Eleven new CASA Volunteers
On July 30th, eleven new Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers were sworn in by Judge Sparkman who thanked them for their dedication and service. The swearing in of these twelve new CASA volunteers will allow more than 20 children to have an advocate looking out for their best interests.
Our eleven newest Court Appointed Special Advocates come to us from Wichita Falls, Megargel, Nocona, Burkburnett, Holliday, and Iowa Park. They come
from many different professions including a teacher, nurse, travel agent,
stay at home mother, and a small business owner. The one thing they all
have in common is a passion for kids. Each volunteer is special in their
own way. All have strengths in listening, empathy, and communication
skills. The volunteers recently completed 30 hours of training with Child Advocates and are very excited to take on their first cases. The class included: Peggy, Cindy, Theresa, Wayne, Charlette, Bev, Jan, Matt, Alisa, Sherry, Jeani, and Brenda. Congratulations! We are so glad you decided to become CASA volunteers!
